APPRENTICESHIP MISSION
Our mission is to provide comprehensive training, development, and real-world experience to the next generation of skilled bricklayers. We believe every apprentice should have the opportunity to develop their potential, build confidence in their craft, and take pride in the work they produce.

WHAT IS BRICKLAYING?
Bricklaying is at the heart of every successful construction project. From foundations and external walls to detailed architectural features, skilled bricklayers play a vital role in creating strong, durable, and visually appealing structures.
At SABW, our experienced bricklayers deliver high-quality workmanship across residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern construction techniques, we ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Alongside new-build construction, we also undertake restoration and refurbishment works, carefully matching existing brickwork and applying specialist finishes to preserve and enhance the character of buildings.
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME
Bricklaying Apprenticeships
Our Bricklaying Apprenticeship Programme is designed for individuals who are interested in building a successful career within the construction industry. Combining practical experience with structured learning, the programme provides apprentices with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become qualified bricklayers.
The apprenticeship typically lasts 24 months and offers a balanced mix of hands-on site experience and classroom-based learning.
On-the-job training
Apprentices spend the majority of their time working on live construction projects alongside experienced bricklayers. This practical experience allows them to develop their skills in a real working environment while learning industry best practices.
Classroom learning
Alongside site-based training, apprentices attend regular training sessions covering key topics such as bricklaying techniques, construction methods, building materials, health and safety regulations, and interpreting technical drawings.
Regular assessments
Throughout the programme, apprentices undertake regular assessments to monitor progress and ensure they are achieving the required industry standards.
Skills and Knowledge Gained
By the end of the apprenticeship, apprentices will have developed:

Qualifications and Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the programme, apprentices will achieve an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Bricklaying. This nationally recognised qualification opens the door to a rewarding career in construction and may provide opportunities to progress within our business as a professional bricklayer, gaining further experience on a wide range of projects
